Service and Facilities

The Day Centre's warm and relaxed atmosphere is an ideal meeting venue to chat. Staff are always willing to spend time lending a listening ear in times of personal crisis and can give advice on homelessness, housing issues, support with sustaining accomodation. A signposting service for drug and alcohol issues together with harm minimisation advice.

There is a timetable of educational and fun activities. There is also free online access so that people can write letters, email, compile C.V.s or just play computer games.

Any budding artists can participate in the Arts and Crafts sessions on Mondays with Caroline and Rachel from Artlandish who are at the moment supporting clients with a large mural of old Grimsby.

If anybody wishes to take more formal training we can introduce them to Charlie who calls into the centre once a week from In Training, she is able to give advice on courses and training in the area. She also has links in with local job agencies and can offer support around the employment process where needed.

Other specialist support services that visit the centre include:

The Mental Health Homelessness team

Community Nurse Practitioner and Specialist Hepatitis C Nurse

CAB

Health Trainers

The Day Centre also offers a free hot meal at lunch, teas and coffees at 5p each and at breakfast time, beans on toast for just 15p or a slice of toast at 5p each.

We have shower/personal hygiene facilities that are available to anyone who wishes to use them. They can also change clothes/shoes or acquire bedding and other household items that have been so kindly donated from the surrounding community.
